Love machine: Computer geek too busy for romance builds himself the perfect girlfriend

Meant to post this yesterday, cheers to commenter for original link. Daily Mail link.

If blind dates, speed dating or websites haven't led you to the love of your life, you could always take a leaf out of inventor Le Trung's book - and build your perfect partner.

The 33-year-old has created Aiko - a 'twenty-something' robot who not only looks feminine and sexy but also does household chores and his accounts.

But despite her shiny hair and 32-23-33 figure, Aiko [I think pronounced Eye-Ko]- whose name means love child - is no trophy partner.

Robot romance: Le Trung with his perfected partner Aiko

She is accomplished too with a talent for maths and a 13,000-sentence vocabulary - in English and Japanese. She can also recognise faces, read aloud from a newspaper and give directions.

Aiko, a fembot made from silicone and A.I. technology, is a genuine labour of love for Mr Trung.

He has taken out credit cards and loans, sold his car and spent his life savings on perfecting the machine - at a cost so far of ?14,000.

The former software programmer, from Ontario, Canada, said he never had time to find a real wife but has not built Aiko as a sexual partner - although she is touch-sensitive and reacts if she is shown affection or is hurt.

Mr Trung said: 'I want to make her look, feel and act as human as possible so she can be the perfect companion.

'Like a real female she will react to being touched in certain ways. If you grab or squeeze too hard she will try to slap you. She has all senses except for smell.

'She doesn’t need holidays, food or rest and she will work almost 24-hours a day. She is the perfect woman.'

Mr Trung, who dresses Aiko in different outfits and takes her for drives in the countryside, was a child genius and made his first robot when he was eight years old.

'People have mixed reactions when they meet Aiko,' he said.

'They either love or hate her. Some people get angry and accuse me of playing God. Once someone threw a rock at Aiko. That really upset me. But many people are fascinated by her.

'Women are generally impressed and try to talk to her. But the men always want to touch her, and if they do it in the wrong way they get a slap.'

Mr Trung will spend the next few years perfecting Aiko's software and increasing her range of skills - but not just for his own amusement.

'I suffered a heart attack and I thought that one day I might need 24-hour care in the future,' he said.

'I may need to have Aiko look after me one day.'

Playing With Pink's Delirium

I think I've discovered my new favourite band :O, she loves her cats ;p. Thought this was a good music video, basically about Ladyhawke's dissociation [she was born with a asperger syndrome btw (so reasonably dissociated from what's going on around her already); name based on this movie]. First off, multiple images of her are shown as if there were more than one of her (dual/MPD symbolism), then the block goes from 0:32 to 0:33, note the leopard-print bag she gets out, packs and dissociatively hallucinates that she is existing in the pictures, note that she is looking into the mirror where she sees the hallucination like a TV screen of sorts (a TV is referred to as Magic Mirror in Enchanted), she drives past a goat skull (Baphomet) specifically you see her drive behind an eye of it (in the hallucination after the leopard-print bag is packed) then note mount rushmore style cat-heads [pictured] just after this and a side-mirror is shown

Late night, Waiting by the phone
Tonight waiting for an answer
Heartbeat drumming double time
I need one more chance to be near you

Still hanging on (for what)
Can’t operate (fired up)
I won’t eat eat and I sleep for you yeah
No rest till I (get through)
‘coz I’m holding out (for you)
Am I the only one who’s insane
Hey you’re playing with my delirium
And the longer I wait the harder I’m gonna fall

Stop playing with my delerium
coz
I’m outta my head and outta my self control

Still here in this quiet room
Deep in delusion sending me over

Outside watch the world go by
Inside time stands still as I wonder

Her other videos are also symbolic, the above one 'Dusk Till Dawn' (as in the movie, with all the masked horror characters from movies fucking with her head), and naturally she gives us a cute video diary from her time in Disneyland... [leopard-print turtle and such]

Pink's new one is just too much (I assume this will be removed by the corporate asshats, will add Imeem one when it's up which never go usually); double symbolism (described above), she has sex with herself, the white room with headless Pinks (they connect via the head at one point), spiral staircase, "spinning round spinning round spinning round", think there's even a bird cage in there etc. It's actually getting pretty frustrating how fucking blatant the whole thing is, maybe I should just forget everything I know and jump on the "the universe will magically save us all, forget all the bad things, it's all an illusion, our consciousness is about to explode in an orgasm of spiritual enlightenment!", just watch it and learn. MK is everywhere for a reason, and it ain't positive... this is the way the world is; the people in charge of it have always been fucking with our consciousness [through religion, world wars etc].

Edit: Speaking of cats; check out Daily Mail's piece: "Miaow! Beyonce's skin-tight Catwoman has made fans purring with delight!"
And these six-month old baby high heels in leopard-print, pink pvc (with zebra inside)... things are going according to plan...
We're alot closer to empathic robots than this link suggests in my opinion... won't be too many more years before fully-fledged sentient sex-androids go on the market, as long as their is the appropriate chaos going on (WW3; you can get away with all kinds of crazy shit, as long as you have the appropriate chaoz occurring at the same time so no one will give a shit). A.I. is slowly (much quicker than we think) becoming a total reality, pictured the robot kid + the teddy bear, the kind of toy this sort of thing is ultimately leading to.

"It might sound like an unlikely encounter, but a team of scientists in the UK are creating robots that are capable of growing emotionally, responding to humans and of expressing their own emotional states as they interact with people.

Dr Lola Canamero, of the University of Hertfordshire’s School of Computer Science, who is co-ordinating the European project, said the aim was to develop robots that could grow up and adapt to humans in everyday environments."

Emotibots

Copy and paste job of an article posted at 6.46 that relates to my WALL-E post. I think they are attempting to get us to empathize with robots on the same level as humans, essentially stripping us of some of our humanity... or something (obvious mind control robot programming spoken of in my WALL-E post). In other news, Ex-Google engineers introduce $33 million rival search engine, 'Cuil', look to the right and you will see other numerology synchs like Emirates selling a 5 minute shower on their flights for £4,737 here. Entering the post-human world. My own emphasis added to article.

A robot puppet which appears to react emotionally and a metallic spidery creation that tracks people's faces have been bringing out the best - and worst - in children at London's Science Museum.

Heart Robot has a beating heart, a breathing belly, and sensors that respond to movement, noise and touch.

Cuddle him, and he seems to soak up the affection. His limbs become limp, his eyelids lower, his breathing relaxes, and his heart beat slows down.

I need a hug: The Heart Robot is the star of the Emotibots exhibition

But give him a violent shake, or shout in his face, and he gets upset. He flinches, his hands clench, his breathing and heart rate speed up, and his eyes widen.

Heart Robot, created by scientists at the University of the West of England in Bristol, was designed to explore what happens when machines interact emotionally with humans.

But he also revealed something about the psychological differences between pre-teen children.

Cuddle me: Designer David McGoran and his creation Heart Robot which has a breathing belly and beating heart

Holly Cave, who helped organise the interactive 'Emotibots' event at the Science Museum in which Heart Robot plays a starring role, said: 'Heart Robot looks like a cross between ET and Gollum and is about the size of a small child.

'He's half robot, half puppet. You move him around by hand, but he has innate responses that appear emotional.

'Different children react to him very differently. They either want to hug and cuddle him, and look after him like a doll or baby, or they just want to scare him.'

Also taking part in the Emotibots event this week is Hexapod, a six-legged metallic spidery robot that tracks people's faces and latches onto visitors who walk around it.

If a person holds Hexapod's gaze long enough what it sees is downloaded and projected onto a plasma screen.

Children are invited to interact with the Hexapod robot, which also takes pictures of visitors' faces to be uploaded onto its website.

Designer Matthew Denton with his Hexapod robot which has been designed to react emotionally to humans. It forms part of the Science Museum's Emotibots exhibition

Museum bosses hope the Emotibot exhibit, coinciding with the release of the Disney film Wall-E, will show children that robots aren't all fictional, and increase their interest in science.

The Science Museum's Emotibots exhibition coincides with the UK release of Pixar's Wall-E, which has fuelled a new interest in robots

'A huge number of children will be seeing Wall-E, and it seemed interest in robots was higher than ever,' said Holly.

'Everyone's falling for the 'lonely' robot WALL-E, but the idea of robots having emotions or a personality may no longer just be science fiction.

'How humans and robots might interact in the future is something that raises lots of interesting ethical and moral questions.

'We wanted to do something where children can get up close and interact with the robots.

'For most of them it will probably be the first time they've seen a robot up close. We hope the exhibit will make them think about robots, and whether or not they can really form an emotional attachment to them.'

The robot, invented by animatronics expert Matt Denton, has six legs and a single camera for an eye.

It has had a starring role in several films - prototypes for it were used in two Harry Potter films, for Hagrid's pets. Currently Mr Denton is trying to secure funding for a larger, 2m-wide version.

The robot is on display until Friday in the Antenna gallery.

I'll synch this up to an older post I did about fembots in the media, here.
